SUFFERING FROM SCIATICA?

Flagstaff, AZ Sciatica

Over the past 12 years I've had the privilege of helping patients all across Norther Arizona & surrounding areas with their sciatica.

Our clinic is different in that we dig, find, and FIX the root cause of sciatica. We don't simply "mask" the symptom with a medication.

We'll determine the cause which will then determine our course of action.

We also have different methods of reducing / minimizing INFLAMMATION in the body...so we'll look at things from a nutritional perspective and make recommendations that will

reduce inflammation in the body.

If you're struggling with chronic sciatica that won't go away and can't get to the bottom of it, then give our clinic a call. Our methods are safe, natural, and highly effective.

OSTEOPATHIC AND REGENERATIVE INJECTION CARE FOR SCIATICA

Sciatica treatment through osteopathic and regenerative care focuses on addressing nerve compression and underlying spinal, pelvic and sacral issues that cause radiating leg pain. Osteopaths utilize structural and soft tissue treatments to relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve. Treatment plans typically include specific exercises to strengthen core muscles, improve flexibility of contributing tension patterns, and enhance spinal stability.

Additionally, prolotherapy and ozone injections work very well to relieve pain and improve healing. See regenerative medicine.

Most patients experience significant pain reduction and improved mobility through this treatment, which addresses both immediate symptoms and long-term prevention of sciatic nerve irritation. Treatments help maintain proper spine alignment and prevent future episodes, while patient education on posture and body mechanics supports lasting relief.

OUR APPROACH IS UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT

Most people try to deal with their sciatica using prescription or over-the-counter drugs or steroid injections. This may help to relieve the symptoms in the short-term, but not only are patients dealing with side effects, the underlying issue goes unaddressed, and steroids weaken the stabilizing connective tissue.

Osteopathic treatment is a natural practice that addresses the structural cause that leads to the majority of sciatica. Following a thorough medical and osteopathic exam aimed at ruling out other issues and finding the exact source of the problem, a personalized recovery plan is developed.

This may involve osteopathic treatment alone or combined with injections depending on the findings. These treatments can bring instant relief and restore long term health to the lower back and the entire body. Call Dr. Burgoon today to set up a consultation and bring an end to the pain.

SCIATICA FACTS

Sciatica is a symptom of an underlying medical condition. The term describes the pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness that starts in the lower back and moves to the nerves located in either leg.

The most common causes of sciatica are a lumbar herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, and spondylolisthesis. Muscle spasms in the pelvis can also cause sciatica.

For adults over 60, degenerative changes in the spine like lumbar spinal stenosis and degenerative spondylolisthesis are the typical culprits.

Over time, sciatica can cause permanent or long-term nerve damage. This can result in chronic numbness, tingling, loss of feeling, weakness, or pain. This happens most often when the patient is aware of a problem for a very long time, but for whatever reason, does not seek treatment.

Your underlying condition helps determine the treatment plan. This is why we do a thorough examination to determine the root cause. Treatment options will include osteopathic care, injections with prolotherapy and ozone therapy, stretches, exercises/rehab along with other conservative modalities.
